Privacy policy

How this practice collects, uses, stores and protects your information.

This policy describes the practice's handling of personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). It is a working draft prepared for the practice and should be reviewed by the practice's legal/compliance adviser before publication.

What we collect

Depending on which services you use, the practice may collect: contact details you provide through the enquiry form; booking details (name, contact information, appointment preferences); intake information you choose to provide before your first appointment; and clinical questionnaire responses.

Anonymous questionnaires

Online clinical questionnaires deliberately do not ask for your name or contact details. Instead, your doctor gives you a private access code, and only your doctor knows which code belongs to you. Your responses are stored against the code alone. This is a privacy-by-design measure: even in the unlikely event of unauthorised access, questionnaire responses cannot be linked to you without the doctor's private records.

Why we collect it

Information is collected only for providing psychiatric care: assessment, treatment, appointment management, communication with you and (with your consent) your referring doctor, and practice administration including payment processing.

Consent

Before any form on this website collects personal or health information, you are asked to confirm you understand and agree to that collection. You can decline and contact the practice by phone instead.

Storage and security

  • All traffic to this website is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS).
  • Data submitted through the website is stored on Google Cloud (Firebase) infrastructure with encryption at rest, access-controlled so only the doctor's authenticated account can read it.
  • Access to patient data through the practice dashboard is logged.
  • Payment card details are handled by the payment provider and are never stored by the practice.

Disclosure

Your information is not sold or shared for marketing. It may be disclosed only: to your referring/nominated GP with your consent; where required or authorised by law; or to trusted service providers (such as secure hosting and payment processing) bound by confidentiality and data-processing obligations.

Access and correction

You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information the practice holds about you. Contact the practice using the details on the contact page. If you have a privacy concern, please raise it with the practice first; you may also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

Website analytics and cookies

This website does not use advertising trackers. Essential cookies/storage are used only to make the site function (for example, remembering your questionnaire access code for the duration of your visit).
